Novi Sad School of Journalism, in partnership with the Centre “Living Upright ” is implementing the project “I speak for myself”
The main objective of the project is to improve the position of persons with disabilities in Serbia.
Project activities are grouped into two phases. In the first phase, there will be two media training with the goal to strengthen the capacity of people with disabilities for self advocacy in the media, both traditional and new media. In the second phase of the project three panel discussions will be held, which will host students of journalism, law and history, representatives of organizations that gather people with disabilities and state institutions in order to increase their knowledge about the history of the disability movement and the rights and status of persons with disability in Serbia, and to explain to the community why advancing the rights of people with disabilities, improves quality of life of the entire community.
The project is supported by Mobility International USA (MIUSA) and the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade.
