The aim of the project «Media Independence in 2015» is to improve professional standards of reporting of two public services by recommending measures based on research results which will determine the extend to which Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) and the Radio-Televison Serbia (RTS) achived their independence and the programming function defined in the Law on Public Service Media and Law on Public Information in the period of budget financing.
Specific project objectives are to determine how and to what extend public services achieve legal principles of independence of editorial policy and other principles as well as to what extend public services satisfy pulic interests in various segments of their broadcast programme, particulary in terms of programming functions.
The research results will be shared with all relevant stakeholders in the media sector, such as: managers of public services, editors and journalists, The Regulatory Body for the Electronic Media, the Ministry of Culture and Information and the Provincial Secretariat for Culture and Public Information, EU Delegation in Serbia, national councils of national minorites, media and journalists’ associations (UNS, NUNS, NDNV, BIRN, CINS, Ethnicity Research Center, Institute of Social Sciences, etc), the faculties of social sciences and journalism.
