The nowadays multimedia world is in constant process of development of new technology. Generations that are familiar and surrounded with multimedia from their birth experience differently every media message.
The main objective of the project “Media and teaching – media literacy” is to strengthen the capacity of teachers from primary and secondary schools through the introduction and encouragement of implantation of innovative multimedia teaching methods.
Analyzing the use of media in the existing teaching units will contribute to the media literacy development and will encourage critical thinking and active participation of students on their classes and in extracurricular activities.
Two educational seminars for professional development of teachers will be organized during the project implementation. Also, one of the main project activities will be to create electronic guide which will assist the teachers in the practical implementation of media literacy as part of their lessons.
The most preferably change that the project seeks to achieve is to sensitize teachers to understand and to use media, both traditional and new media, in everyday teaching. Media literacy program is not only for teachers of native language and civic education, but also provides the tools necessary for using media in other subject such as mathematics, geography, history, physics, chemistry, music and fine arts and informatics.
