The goal of the project is to establish a mechanism for detecting and deconstructing fake news, primarily those that directly threaten the public interest, public health, democracy and tolerance.

Tolerant media for tolerant society

(Czech Republic’s Official Transition Promotion Program, February – June 2018
The main goals of our project „Tolerant media for tolerant society“ are improving media practice in Serbia in reporting about sensitive social groups and reducing stereotypes and prejudices in the public towards these people. This will be achieved by (A) monitoring of print, TV and online media outlets; the results of monitoring with key examples of good and bad practice will be presented within the (B) online public campaign (the total range of more than 100,000 citizens), as well as within the (C) series of discussions with high school students in Serbia (more than 100 participants).

Reading the media - implementation of the EU recommendations for the introduction of media and information literacy into education

Belgrade open school, January 1 – July 31, 2018.
Overall objective is introducing the EU recommendations of media and information literacy into the existing school system of primary education in Serbia. Novi Sad School of Journalism and Bilbioteka plus as recognized CSOs dedicated to increasing media literacy among teachers and librarians in the past ten years, are partners on this project.

The project „Mission Defence: using activism and legal possibilities to resist the pressures on the media“ is dedicated to empowerment of journalists from Vojvodina, working in media that are financially dependent on state many, and therefore at the risk of pressure on editorial policy.


Ministry of Culture and Information, October 2017 – December 2017
The project "Day in your shoes - improving professional and ethical standards in the field of public information for people with disabilities" is designed to promote the process of media production in the field of inclusion of persons with disabilities by joint media production of students of journalism and students with disabilities.

P + P = E

Ministry for agriculture and and Environmental Protection, October 2017 – November 2017
The project "P + P = E" was designed to encourage young people to be informed about the state of the environment and interested in its protection. Through the ten episodes of the audio-series, the key environmental issues will be analyzed: wastewater, alternative forms of energy, animal protection, the importance of forests, the importance of biodiversity, recycling, climate change...


Ministry of Culture and Information, September 2017 – November 2017
Within the project, a total of 12 audio-formats will be realized in Slovak, Croatian, Ruthenian and Serbian language, based on the stories “Sick Apple”, “Tears under the mask” and “Maize porridge”.


Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities, September 2017 – October 2017
The project “Religion on radio waves” aims to raise public awareness of the importance of a conciliatory dialogue through learning about interreligious values that advocate peace and equality. The project includes the production and broadcasting of a short radio series that will be available on the website of the Novi Sad School of Journalism.

Within the project, a total of 12 audio-formats will be realized in Slovak, Croatian, Hungarian and Serbian language, based on the stories "From Gray City to Novi Sad", "Lost Heart" and "Dog Duncho".


EU Delegation to Serbia, October 2017 – March 2018.

"Lokmed Observatory" is committed to fostering media integrity and effective distribution of resources for public information at the local level. The project includes three municipalities from Vojvodina - Novi Sad, Subotica and Kikinda - which, on the basis of privatization monitoring of local media (NNŠ, 2015), are recognized as areas with high risk in the fields of media freedom and media pluralism.


Debanking Misinformation

Novi Sad School of Journalism has started implementing the project "Debanking Misinformation" in cooperation with “Tranzitions” organization from the Czech Republic.
The main objective of the project is to built local capacity in Serbia to combat media propaganda and misinformation in the public sphere. Building local capacity will be realized through education for educators in media field.
