Day in Your Shoes

Sixth time in a row, Novi Sad School of Journalism is implementing the project called “Day in your shoes”, designed so that the joint education, training and media production for journalism students and students with disabilities, improve the process of media production, placing emphasis on people with disabilities and their active presence in media sphere. This way we will achieve the disability sensitisation and raise of society awareness about the needs and problems that youth with disabilities are faced with.

Improving the professional and ethical standards in the field of public information of persons with disabilities

At a time when media greatly affect the lives of every individual, it can not be ignored the dominant influence which they have on the values and patterns of behavior of citizens. One of the ways to overcome the current problems in the field of information of persons with disabilities is to change the attitudes of the media creators - journalists, editors and other media workers. The most direct way is the impact on the cognitive component of attitudes - upgrading the competencies of media workers, in the manner as defined in the Law on Public Information and Media.

Media monitoring of public service broadcasters 2015/2016

The new Law on Public Service Broadcasting (2014) requires that the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) and Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV), as the media established by citizens, funded by citizens and controlled by citizens, realize public interest through its informative, educational and entitlement programming. The aim of this project is to determine how and to what extent Radio Television of Vojvodina and Radio Television Serbia are realizing the Law defined public interest.

Monitoring of media in Serbia during the election campaign 2016

In the context of the upcoming elections, which will be held at all levels of government in Serbia this year, it is necessary to pay attention to the media who together with the political parties are the holders of the election process because every campaign that the parties had prepared is public, and for the most part published in the media. Through the attitude of the media towards the participants in the campaign, the media in Serbia should answer these questions: what is the interest of citizens in Vojvodina and Serbia and what kind of the important political information they need to acquire during the campaign period.

MEDIA [IN]DEPENDENCE – the realization of independence and program functions of the public media services in Serbia in the period of budget financing

This research will determine the extent to which the Radio-Television of Vojvodina is achieving its independence and the programming function, in the period of budget financing, in relation to the propositions set forth by the new Law on Public Media Services.

KOVČEŽIĆ – SHORT STORIES IN MINORITY LANGUAGES

Project “Kovčežić” (Treasure chest) is dedicated to the enrichment of offer of short audio stories in minority languages, as well as to the encouraging multiculturalism in Vojvodina. In addition to fostering positive values, creativity and standard language, audio format allows creators of literature for children to add a special value to their stories, by reviving them in the new media format. These audio storieswill also be available to the blind and visually impaired children.

Media Independence in 2015
